A professional eco-poet, children's author, community artist and Forest Schools leader based in dynamic Somerset Transition town, Frome, Helen has a passion for inspiring children and adults to connect more deeply with the natural world. With literary degrees from Oxford and Edinburgh Universities, an informal education with Beltane Fire Society over eight years, and inspiration from a Permaculture Foundation course and her Forest Schools training, Helen has evolved an acadenic, artistic and holistic synthesis, which informs all aspects of her practice. This ranges from facilitating 'Wild Ways of Writing' outdoor workshops, training teachers in the benefits and opportunities of the outdoor classroom, or offering sustainability education in schools.
In 2011 she's leading the Web of Life Community Art Project, drawing from creativity across the local community, to mount an exhibition and series of events highlighting our interconnection with our planet, and the mass extinctions currently occurring.
